Cycle Fridge

You have to cycle a certain amount to open the fridge

Wee Mad Arthur's time delay fridge made me think of this. Connect an exercise bike (or some other exercise machine) to the fridge. If you want to open the fridge, you have to ride X miles on the bike. How long that takes and who does the pedaling is up to you, but you have to go the distance, which you lock into the system a week in advance. You would be able to ride extra miles that would allow you to open the fridge several times later -- you could, for example, get in one good bout of exercise in the morning and then use the fridge normally for the rest of the day.

Sounds like you'll need one of these http://www.bikemotor.com/images/49cu.jpg

[po] "but I only want a drop of milk"

Ride. It will be good for you. An hour's ride in the morning -- depending on how you set it -- might let you open the fridge as much as you like for the rest of the day.

can I somehow build up a credit/debit account? get my milk - am in a rush in the morning - promise to cycle 5 miles in the evening - is that OK?
po, Nov 26 2002

No, dear. Soon you'd be in debt to the tune of thousands of drops of milk (which I'm sure is a very pretty tune, but) and the fridge would have to send someone to collect.

I will pay next week - promise.

       [waugsqueke] "I just ran 15K..."

It's obviously not for people who can and will go out and run 15K, it's for fat bastards who can't go 15 minutes without eating and need to be forced (to force themselves, really) to exercise: cycle or the fridge stays closed.

Well, I suppose it could be adapted.
