Crystal Ball Juggling Ballet Fountain

Crystal balls suspened, tossed in the air, flung and caught by dynamic water columns.

Start with one. It's a pretty crystal sphere about the size of a bowling ball. The fountain under it sprays a specifically shaped column of water to lift it. Okay, simple enough.

The it does it again, but this time tosses it in the air and catches it. Okay.

Now the water matrix that makes up the fountain kicks in and the first column reshapes such that it drops the ball into the column of water next to it and the ball moves sideways.

So that being the basic idea, the fountain, filled with a dozen or so of these balls starts throwing them into the air, juggling them, tossing them, catching them all to background music such as Swan Lake.

Fountains dancing to music are great, but this one features crystal balls flying around in fascinating patterns.

I'll Google balls bouncing around in a fountain.

Update: Don't Google balls bouncing around in a fountain.

       This has been done before?

No, just an obvious kick off of the zorb fountain idea.

Yea, but that's not gonna happen, this might.

       But okay.

I dunno, solid glass balls are pretty heavy. It would take quite a lot of water to move them around, and if you have too much it might spoil the effect.

Did you know that you can get hollow glass balls? They used to be used as floats, and are sometimes known as "witch balls". I have some antique ones.
Anyway, hollow balls would be much lighter and therefore easier to squirt about.

Yea, thought of that, just liked all the sparkly bits inside, but suppose you coudl have sparkly bits on hollow orbs as well.

I was also concerned about breakage and wind as well. That being said, I think people would really enjoy a fountain doing this. I'd certainly stop and watch.

Hmm, maybe plastic is better. What of one of these hit somebody in the head?

Okay, I'm going with solid clear plastic rubbery substance with a bit of give to them. Has the sparkly bits, enough mass to not get blown away but not too heavy to lift and won't hurt anybody.
