I think that this is a fine idea. A crowd-funded law suit would be far more intimidating to corporate or government entities since any publicity would only serve to increase revenue for the case against them. |

Not necessarily. Many corvids are attracted by shiny objects, and some species - particularly magpies - are notorious for stealing such items and taking them back to their nests. |
