Baked. Panto. And it's terrible. |

<Encouraging gestures to audience/> |

... and there's the other ugly sister, right on cue. |

//Baked. Panto. And it's terrible.// |

Do they all stand up and yell "Crush our enemies!
See them driven before us and hear the
lamentations of their women!" in unison? |
If that's already been done than never mind, but I
get the idea that in Panto everybody acts like a
mincing little pussy which, you're absolutely right,
doesn't sound like a lot
of fun. |
Did I mention that the crowd would not necessarily
play a civilized, well behaved group of people? If
it's my movie the audience is
portraying a band of blood thirsty, barbarian thugs.
You'd get to yell stuff in a crowd of
people that you probably wouldn't want to yell in
public normally. |

Baked - association football fans. |
This has been happening for years at screenings of
the Rocky Horror Picture Show, with audiences also
in full
costume. |
Do they actually read lines that aren't spoken by
the
people on screen? Went to see it once, don't really
remember much. Lots of people yelling things and
throwing stuff. The gals seemed to be having fun. |
This idea is to have the audience actually play a
part of the drama, not just interacting. |
Put it this way, you could digitally take a character
out of a movie, removing their dialog and have the
audience play their part. Jack would say "I love
you Karen" and the audience would say "I love you
too jack." Not speaking along with the character
on screen, they would be the character. |
There would be conversations between the screen
and the audience. Picture a priest doing that thing
where he says someting and everybody responds,
where the whole congretation reads a prayer
together doing different parts. |
That's what this would be. |
To be fair, not all priests are kiddie-fiddlers; many just father illegitimate kids of their own ... |
Neo-Panto posssibly, breaking version 4.0h. |
It also sounds a lot like what passes for a
government in America in action. ie scripted chaos
presided over by a dictator instead of a film
director. |
There's a script ? Who knew, huh ? |
Breaking the 4th wall is a horrible capitalist construct, as proved by self service checkouts and flat pack furniture (and pantomime obvs). |
Wjt, wtf is neo-panto (omg etc) btw? |
Neo-Platonism, played for laughs in a silly voice, drag, and outrageous makeup. |
