Crematorium Microturbines

Why should dinosaurs have all the fun?

The idea is simple - fossil fuels work on the same principle - harvesting potential energy stored over millions of years in dinosaur fat.

We could instantly harvest the potential energy stored within ourselves after we die - sell our fat asses back to the grid.

I thought this might be a power-station powered by energy extracted from the burning of dead flies.

Ignoring the ignorance (fossil fuels derive from dinosaur fat? sheesh..), there is quite a lot of energy in a human body. John Candy for example could have powered every tanning salon in New York for several months. Cremation actually uses energy the way we do it now, but if the bodies were allowed to dry out... then again, you're just playing the gross-out troll here so I'll bone you.

Also in your second para you seem to refer to the energy in *our* bodies then you switch to talking about burning *donkeys* in these units? Which is it?

*this* concept was what I was expecting to read in the 'Kid Powered Schools' idea posted today.

Use a paternoster-like system to lower the bodies in series through the hot exhaust gases, in counter-current. Once they reach the bottom they are dry enough to burn. The asses could turn a wheel to operate the paternoster, but it would be more efficient just to use a small electric motor.
