Convertable Toaster

A toaster woth a removable cover ( the plastic part ) so that the crumb tray is easily emptied. Another advantage is that the color is easily changed with your mood/decorative scheme in your kitchen. Make it dishwasher safe and you can clean all the sticky hand prints and kitchen grease off. Easier and cheaper than buying a whole new toaster everytime you decide to change your mind. And who knows, it could be applied to other appliances ( they kind of do that already with your dishwasher )

       I think the idea is for replacable body panels (there's a similar idea for cars here). Why the author chose to limit it to toasters, I don't know.   

       For what it's worth, you probably could wash your toaster in the dishwasher. Just make sure you unplug it first.
