You know how some beer comes in bottles covered with fancy gold- or silver-colored foil? This foil gives the bottle a felicitous look making it more compelling to buy.
Alas, quite often it is hard to completely remove the foil from the mouth-contact area to prevent little pieces of foil from entering
the beerstream.
So, once the initial "foiled" offering worked and you bought the beer and saw it was good, I think the duller looking, foilless packaging should be available for those who already know beer is good and don't want to struggle with the stupid foil. Typography on the boxes, labels could also be less bright (and cheaper!), offsetting the manufacturers increased logistics costs.

Kegs, glasses are marvelous inventions, no doubt, but I like to _walk_ to get some beer, and I'm no Hercules.
Besides, drinking beer outside the house makes glasses impractical (I hate flies/sand/leaves in my beer!) |

I suppose you could decant it into a clean and empty foil-less bottle. |

Decanting beer into another bottle isn't quite an option either, because I normally need more than one (bottle). |

Another solution: easily removed foil. Why must it be glued to the bottle? It's not as if it's performing any function that requires strength. |

But wait, there's more: Flashpaper coverings. Perhaps not quite as decorative as metal foils, but my guess is the act of explosive removal of packaging will become attractive itself. (see my Flash Paper Dress idea if you don't know what flash paper is) |

Easily/entertainingly removable covers are nice, but may increase costs, which greedy beer makers wouldn't like. |
