Comic newspaper
I love the comic page so why not make every page the comic page! | |
The news paper should tell the news in comic form. Maby
this wouldn't suit all people but it would make it more
attractive to kids. The names are already there "The axis of
evil" "The alliance of the willing." There is goodies and
baddies, the struggle between good and evil and if written
right
it would make the perfect comic strip, I would try and
make some examples but as you may have worked out I am no
writer so maby some people here could come up with some
amusing strips.
I know that in real life its not as simple as goodies and
baddies but thats the way the news paper portrays them
anyway so why not turn it into a comic and have comic fun
for all, If the kids saw John Howard drawn as a muscle bound
fluro lycra wearing fighting for justice superhero maby they
would gain some respect for him, not that I really think that
that is neccessary ok I'm rambling now.

If there's any newspaper likely to bake this, it'll be UK gutter-press tabloid "The Sun" which is currently in contention for the "World's Most Politically Opinionated Celebrity Lifestyle Magazine" Award. In fact, the problem page has already adopted this technique. >link< |

I wonder if the artists would have the time to cover much news. Still, a brief summary of the week's events would be fantastic! There's something about the pictorial format that just helps things stick on your mind, while reading the New York Times is, as Tom Wolfe wrote, "like slipping into a warm bath." |

Currently, Larry Gonick is about the closest thing we have. He's got a degree in mathematics from Harvard, but is a full-time nonfiction illustrator (See link). Joe Sacco does Middle East nonfiction -- see week of July 6, NYT magazine for a sample -- though mostly from the Palestinian side. |
