Cloud Fountain

Synchronized fog

Standard or synchronized public fountains hooked up to fog machines instead of water pumps.

[I hope that is sufficient explanation; I'd draw a picture, but you *really* don't want that.]

Blur Building http://www.designbo...dillerscofidio.html
Somewhat similar: a "building" made out of fog at Swiss Expo 2002. [krelnik, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

Why not go the whole hog? http://www.halfbake...idea/Ice_20Fountain
Show all three states of water in a single fountain. [lostdog, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 17 2004]

       Oh, but I do.

To give a notion of how foggy it gets in my hometown - that fog, foggy as it may be, ain't nuttin'.

A single sentence explanation smells of an idea not even put in the oven, let alone half-baked. Sir! If you cannot be bothered to even partially cook your ideas then I suggest you do not post them! Good Day to you!

Hmph, the nerve. Didn't even elaborate about the possibilities of pulsating coloured lights illuminating the fog from below, or playful images projected from low-powered lasers dancing across the clouds. Sometimes I think some people have no imagination whatsoever. For example, could we extend this idea to make a Fog Coat? It is a jacket you wear which creates a permanent shroud of fog in your immediate vicinity. Great for the famous (or infamous) to get around in public. The downside is the number of accidents it would cause.

Yes--but such is the diversity encompassed by the nature of this idea that one is left to ponder over its true meaning----something of such is creation is but one of the greatest things----so you may say 'a single sentence explanation smells of an idea not even put in the oven, let alone half-baked' but think of the smells--the aramatic aromas, the flavoursome flavours, sometimes less there is know about an idea the better----if we always knew exactly how what we were eating came about--would we actually eat it?

       I haven't the foggiest idea.

Think of all the false alarm's the fire dept would get ;)

Nice idea though it would really cool down a shopping mall, and create a pleasant enviroment.

[Canuck],//playful images projected from low-powered lasers dancing across the clouds// this interested me. I had an idea for playing lasers onto the front edge of fog on motorways, just to simply say *FOG* but I was not sure if it would woik.

I've always wanted a steam fountain that would blow "smoke rings".

It's doable. You need a bolier, steam chamber, and a set of bellows. You could even send steam signals in morse code on clear days.
FloridaManatee, Apr 07 2003

Or a massive bubble machine that blows steam-filled bubbles
FloridaManatee, Apr 07 2003

FloridaManatee: the problem with steam is if anyone manages to get their hands in the way of the it - par-broiled tykes do not go down well with parents.

<Dr Lechter>Of course not [DrCurry], par-broiled tykes are best with leeks and a good chardonnay. </Dr Lechter>

       [po] Yes, it would work.

What would? I am all for dry fountains, excellent idea, make them warm too. Good for beds.
