Self explainatory. Background: I work in an office when I'm not attending classes, and a boss/coworker/professor staples through the first sentance of a document, (or image) then I rip the paper pulling it out becasue I can't see what is underneath it. We use big industrial style staplers here, the
ones that staple more than 50 sheets at a time. I don't think it exists, but if it does, let me know!

Self explanatory? Well, yes the concept is. Might you be coerced in to sharing with us how this could be accomplished? Is there a transparent polymer that has the necessary properties or is this WIBNI until the aforementioned transparent metals exist? |

Perhaps you could use fishing line, and replace the stapler with a sort of two-stitch sewing machine. Only solves the problem on the first page, though. What we really need is some sort of apparatus to remove staples without ripping the paper. |

I like the fishing line idea... all you would need is a small pair of scissors to remove it, and it would cause minimal damage to the paper. |

Lexan? This is a first rate and eminently bakeable idea. It might be possible to do with hard plastic and only 2 small wire joints. But I have to think that the polymer exists. |

Ahh...many delectable croissants for this excellent idea...how about using a flat type of the ubquitous cable tie, so that you slip the paper in, it punches the thin plastic wire through it twice, then clasps them (yes it'd be ingenious to figure out the clasping technique but hey, I already have...by the way, how do I post pictures?!) the clip the excess wire off...all in one easy stroke. I see issues with getting the plastic wire through the paper in the first place, however...perhaps an integrated miniature hole punch? Punch-push-clip-snip (no, not a good product name). |

This would require a dedicated machine besides a stapler. But - you could give these away then make your money on the staples. A name - Seeples? Clearples? |

And of course, invisible surgical staples... |

Maybe if the die plate (or whatever it's called) that bends the legs of the staples was heated, plastic staples could work. |

Maybe plastic of some sort would work with a new type of "stapler" mechanism. Plastic pegs or legs would punch through the paper, contact a heated die and then be mushroomed like a rivet rather than being bent like a conventional staple. |

uhm, or you could have a 'margin' on the side of the paper, where nothing is typed, and staple in the 'margin'. |

maybe they could just be really thin staples, so that they dont obscure much? |
