The friend of one of my relatives recently had her house broken
into and robbed in Everret MA. The thieves entered by pushing in
the window located air-conditioner, then climbed through the
resulting void created when the device fell inside on the floor. Yes
it
made a racket, but they were
in and out very quickly, grabbing
several items.
If only the owner had purchased an air-conditioner with a
Claymore Option. Had they done so, pushing against the device
from the outside would have activated the compressed gas
powered outer grill. This would have then explosively flung the
potential miscreants backwards to where they came from.
In the delux version, the gas would also have rendered them
unconscious until the police arrived, summoned by an automatic
call to the local constabulary sent by the device's activation.

Bun withheld due to insfufficently lethal design. |

You can opt for the lethal semtex configuration. (totally illegal of course) |

Easier option: snare hidden around the air-con in the wall. So they get halfway in, then they're gripped around the middle and have to wait for the police to arrive. |

Is built-in air-conditioning not a Thing in the USA? I don't think I've ever seen a "window mounted" unit here in New Zealand. |
