Under well regulated guidelines, citizens may use this card to help pace things along in consumer market areas that may struggle at times.
Places like movie theaters, fastfood and checkout lines.
The card pays you back with tax credit and benefits with involved institutions.
Great for when
James ditches his Friday night shift at the theater, and there is one helluva line done built up from it.

You've intoduced the idea and summed it up, but you don't seem to have explained it, [das]. |
its rewarded work for non-employees for those occasions when its needed. it'll all end in tears - mark my words. I've always fancied my hand at brain surgery. |
.oh, sorry, you ordered a salty popcorn bucket and got a container made of corn starch? well, l'll let you in on a secret; I don't actually work here! so l can give you whatever i like! cool or what! + |

well, if they made you scan your card before working then they could track the work to you and deduct if you cause mayhem. Therefore the jobs needed to be filled will only be taken by those that know that they can do it. (Old employees, for example) And then they can get paid at a minimum wage of such. And then, to eliminate [po] 's suggested problem, you could have the card have a list of possible work positions that you are allowed to fill. So that no one tries to do something that they are not cleared to do. So you go to the Citizen's Work Office, and you apply for a card. They look over your old work history and any job that you have held before then gets listed on your card. And then you can apply to have other jobs listed that you have not worked at before. They then test you to make sure that you can do the job, then if you pass, it gets added to your list. Then if you try to swipe your card to work doing something that is not listed on your card, you will be rejected. So the longer you have your card and the more jobs you learn and have added, the more chances of earning money. And the good thing is that the employers will not mind the extra help, because if you are getting paid by the Citizen's Work Office, then you will not cut into their labor counts. Everyone is happy. |

[po], ER rooms aren't exactly consumer market areas. |
[babyhawk] - no offence dear, but have you been taking stimulants or do you always write like that? |
[wags], none taken. let me ask you? Do you have a toddler? No stimulants. I promise. That is just me at the end of a LONG day. I play online to calm down before bed, so there are days that I start writing and you get....well, that. Sorry, but it happens. |
I had a toddler a few years ago. I remember entering unusual states of conciousness due to sheer exhaustion. Amazing how someone so small can overpower someone so big. |
I am glad you understand. There are days when I am thrilled to see or hear from anyone that can make sentances with more than 2 real words in them. Unfortunately my little girl is sick. She has been getting up at 5am every morning upset and wants cuddled, then ends up in our bed, so I can't sleep due to the mother thing. And still, amazingly, going to bed at 10-10:30pm. So you may see writing like that from me til she gets better and starts sleeping all night again Sorry if it gets on your nerves. |
//ER rooms aren't exactly consumer market areas// well, they are in a way! |
Looks like someone stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Must have had fish for dinner. |
What kind of way? Who's way? |
I see a pleasant toddler conversation has landed me a few votes. Take 'em any way I can get 'em, I say. |
But, not [po]'s way, no way. |
pardon? I explained your idea for you and expressed a desire to help the medical world... what you on about? |
//"consumer: One that consumes, especially one that acquires goods or services for direct use or ownership rather than for resale or use in production and manufacturing." www.dictionary.com// |
So in [po]'s defense, no one goes to a hospital to gather services for resale, manufacturing, or production. It is a "services for direct use" sort of place. So I think that, logically, a hospital would be considered a consumer market. |

where's Hawkeye Pierce when you need him? |
didn't you know? James ditched his shift at the movie theatre so Hawkeye took the day to go do that instead! ;) |
With babyhawks addition, this is really quite a good idea! I'll split a bun between deseva and babyhawk. |
If you replace the word "card" in [baby]'s description with "temp agency", this is baked. |
Lots of unemployed people would start to do this to make a living and not pay taxes. At least, in my country. (Well, now that I think about it, people don't pay taxes in my country already). |
Around here if you don't pay your taxis they won't take you home. |
//Under well regulated guidelines// |
These include most of [babyhawk]'s musings, as well as some other things I was too lazy to disclose, mostly because I was too lazy to disclose them, and also because it is fun to have all of you take a shot at it. |
One thing I figure is that if you have a job at a certified institution for a set period of time, say six months, you automatically receive citizen's work priveledges for that work environment. This way, as you work odd jobs in your early years, you effectively build up a citizen's work portfolio. |
Indeed, unemployed people would use this to make money if minimum wage was offered. That is why I was reluctant to add that option to the idea. It is a sore spot on the the whole concept. |
Ah, Why not?, if there's the qualification thing & all?
Where's my bloody food!!!! Friends & acquaintances, If you'll excuse me, I've got this little card here that should ensure us our meal soon enough. No fear, Though I can't duplicate the menu, I can work with what they've got here to make some tastiness all around!
I'll see what I can do about the beverages while I'm at it as well. |
Companies can easily keep a list of qualified ex-employees who are still in the area and may be willing to work if needed. Win-win; you can earn some money if you choose, they can cover their needs. |
Can I sign up as a temporary airline mechanic while they go on strike? |
Per my usual, I've arrived at an interesting Idea too late to make a difference. Oh, what the hell, work is work. |
I like the instant gratification this would provide in the DMV, and other places where workers stall to keep the lines long (it's true, I had it out with a manager about this, he called me names in a letter, I got him fired.). Just flash your card, jump over the counter, and do the damn job yourself. |
It's being implemented at places like Home Depot, with their self checkout. Totally untrained, you can check yourself out much faster than the bored, underpaid, rude, pissed- because- you're- interrupting- their- gossip- and- nail- filing- with- work cashiers. |
I should inform you that there are more dumb SHi& customers percentage wise than dumb shi& cashiers. Statistically speaking of course. |
Proof? The customers with the card are screened. You are pre-approved to work, so the cause of the delay is irrelevant. |
This is an excellent idea. I can't tell you how many times I've been tempted to hop the counter at a Mickey Ds or Wendy's to help the obviously overworked and undertrained staff. |
Just noting the effectiveness of the ampersand in censoring shit. That's fucking awesome. |
[dasera] I like how your post totally negated the fact that shit was censored. You crack me up. :) |
