h a l f b a k e r yI like this idea, only I think it should be run by the government.

This marinade injector is designed to inject marinades which include tiny chunks like garlic, bacon bits, etc, into meat without clogging.
The injector is a syringe type with plunger, with finger grips protruding from either side of the housing. The housing is a single piece formed by injection molding
of a metallic glass, smoothly and seamlessly transitioning from cylindrical shape to conical and then to a thick needle shaft (2mm internal diameter) with a sharp tip. The end of the plunger portion will have a compressible rubber stopper forming a tight seal, to drive the contents of the syringe, chunks and all, into the meat.
After use, the injector could be cleaned by rinsing it with water, and if necessary, using the plunger to drive the water out the needle.

How are you going to keep the needle from clogging with meat ? |
Do ordinary surgical needles clog with meat?
I guess they must, which is why they're single use. |
2mm wide ones of the regular design probably would. |
This brings up an invention of mine: the meat blender. |
Well, someone here was first, but doesn't that just prove it's a good idea? |
It will unclog if enough pressure is applied. |
We suggest keeping the 2mm needle, but
replacing the reservoir with cast cobalt steel,
about 100mm thick. |
The piston would be propelled by a suitable
double-base extruded propellant charge. |
The needle would be quite unlikely to clog. |
Warning: this kitchen appliance may fall
under the scope of some international arms
limitation treaties. |
Are you sure "having a chunky marinade injection" isn't a euphemism for something? |
Eventually, given enough pressure, yes ... |
well, the point bit could be fine enough to poke in, without any reverse-poking taking place, if it was a sort of clamshell arrangement that expanded under pressure. [+] I've often wanted something like this. |

Save yourself all the grief. Slice meat. Inter lay filling and sliced meat. Cook. Feed to dog. Get stuck into a Maccas. |
