1:00 PM = C -- 2:00 PM = C, E -- 3:00 PM = C, E, G -- 4:00 PM = C, E, G, C2 ETC.

By the time you get to midnight the clock blasts an impressive 12 note chord.

Plus, you could have AM play a major chord, PM play a minor chord so midnight is scary sounding and the buildup to it is ominous. Not sure if this is different enough from the original idea to post a new suggestion.

I don't think I need more than an "inspired by..." footnote, if that much. Just sayin'.

Gotta show respect for the creative instigator of an idea. Can't claim my creative input until I give credit to the person who took the first steps.

In my youth I made my living in an industry where creative input was regularly played down, denied or outright stolen and I never wanted to be that kind of player. Even here, on a fun little idea forum.

So giving credit where credit is due is for me as much as you.

Besides, I don't think either of us are up for a Nobel prize for this anyway.
