I like it, but it would be hard to keep them from breaking up in a bag, you may want to package them like Pringles with a paper wafer between each. |
What'n hell are "crisps?" |
These are Baked in many restaurants, which serve large chocolate shavings as dessert garnishes. Haven't seen any packaged and sold. I think they'd be too flimsy. But if you can figure it out, you've got my vote. Actually, you've got my vote anyway. |
I think they'd have to be molded, properly tempered and, given a Pringles-like shape and a reasonable thickness, would probably be rugged enough. |
we gotta get this crisps / chips thing sorted; for the sake of whirled peas :) |
I corrected 2fries when he started talking about the chip on someone's shoulder. "You mean shoulder crisp, don't you?" I asked. I think that it sounds stupid but I'd like to be correct and all. |
bris, I don't give a f***. I love you! |
I don't think it matters as long as they bring back Erik Estrada for the lead role. |
Interesting point. Do Brits have crisps on their shoulders? |
Crisps / chips / fries = intractable problem. Let's just agree to deliberately misunderstand one another whenever possible. |
I'm disappointed. I thought I'd see references to 'Jon and Ponch' here. |
You're disappointed? I'm disappointed, too. I thought this was going to be a tasteless remake of the 80's TV show with black actors in the lead roles. ba-da-boom! |
How about a 'do-it-yourself" chocolate "chip" ("crisp") -making kit comprised of a block of chocolate (mmm, chocolate!) and a cheese slicer, you know, the kind you draw across the flat face of the cheese to skim off a layer, only you use it to shave off slivers of chocolate instead? |
Zany foods? Do you mean like Turt-illa Chips - kind of like the candy Turtles (FYI - a caramel disk dotted with pecan chunks strategically located so when it is coated with chocolate it resembles a tiny turtle) flattened out and cut into triangles so you can dip them in "salsa" (special sweet salsa made from strawberries and whipped cream and stuff) before popping in your mouth? |
Yes, canuck. About the Brits, have you ever tried to make one of the guys in the funny hats smile? |
I'd go for french-fry-shaped chocolate fingers! (You just can't eat two!) |
sorry but i'd like to stick to chocolate syrup |
This is a great idea. They don't have to be soft milk chocolate hershey-like deals, but crunchy, like flattened cocoa puffs. I'd buy either version though. And they could come up with other flavors and toppings. I'd seriously be worried about someone stealing this idea. I can't believe we don't have anything like this now. |
How about reinventing it? |
Seriously, I came up with this very idea a month ago, but when I saw this, I remembered seeing it when it was first posted. Even the 'salsa' bit. |
Oh well...have a vanilla-pudding-with-coconut-and-strawberry-creme-dipped chocolate croissant. |
Speaking of "cute" little names for businesses, how about Inevi tables? |
how is inevi an adjective describing a table |
Then galukalock said it was his, then there was a big fight, then the hospital, big mess... |
Hershey's makes a product just like this. They're called Swoops! and they are thin pieces of chocolate shaped kind of like Pringles Potato Chips and stacked together in small packages. They taste just like the candy bars and kisses, so I guess Hershey's expects people to go wild over the new shape or something. I don't know if they sell them everywhere, but I've had them in California. |
I was expecting a confectioners computer circuit.... |
[tchaikovsky] they're in Illinois, too. I haven't tried them. I'm too stingy- I'll just eat the cheapest version of a melted down Hershey's kiss/candy bar/etc I can find. |
So not a new crime fighting TV show |
Baked! hershey's Swoops. They're in all the supermarkets |
And in the Uk by Cadburys about 6 months ago - trouble is, they're vile, kind of crispy and hard. uck. |
One must look at the post date and the date the fully realized idea was implemented before they throw the 'B' word around. |
I had not seen the Hershey things until last year, and this may be my shortcoming, but the warning stands. |
