That's about it. Novelty chocolate in the form of a functioning robot. I've made chocolate sculptures and the stuff can be fairly strong. Mass produce some hard candy gears and other workings, add a few motors, a battery, and a non-chocolate chip to control it all.

Inspired by the name of this idea. [Worldgineer, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

Hm. If you're mixing edible things with non-edible parts small enough to swallow, how will you prevent the inedible parts from making their way down the throat of the occasional toddler or drunk adult?

hi [worldgineer]. Let's work together. You make the choco-bots and bolts for my chocobot.

       See you then!

Keeo out of the reach of diabetic/gluton/fat children.

No, actually, keep out of my reach.

Actually, I like this. I love chocolate.

I suspect that the motor and non-chocolate chip could be put into one plastic package that is too big to swallow.

The sad part is that people would probably be reluctant to actually eat the robot, but by the time it broke, it wouldn't be fit to eat.

[scad] has the idea on the parts. I'm thinking of a plastic device with four sections that turn. Though I have no idea what you're talking about when you say that someone wouldn't eat chocolate in time. Really, I don't think I've ever met anyone like that.

[django] Deal. As long as your chocobot makes the chocolate for my choco-bot. With self-replicating chocolate technology we can conquer the world.

       Cheers!

Great fun until the chocolate melts and the robot is destroyed by its own shoddy structure

But that's the great finale of fun.

Mom, I can't catch my Easter bunny.

It's very sad. World always has the best ideas. +

I like the idea of an edible robot. you could release a bunch of them in the woods and go hunting for them with with lasers that would activate a dramatic or violent death sequence when you shoot them.

Their functions may be susceptible to ... bugs. I'm thinking ants in particular.

Nice link [Voice]. Though until we can come up with edible logic circuits we'll still need some plastic box you can't swallow. Oh wait: "They could also leverage non-toxic batteries designed as part of the growing field of edible electronics that can’t be digested but can pass through the body without harm."
