Make a rfid plaster, stick it on your kid [not too sick], make a portable tracking device usable in the zoo, park or whatever place kids always manage to get lost (e.g. especially in groups managed by their teacher).
Half baked is the tracking device, rfid needs active scanning I believe (any ideas
on that?).
GPS/WifI plasters might be better with a Wifi PDA as tracking device. If the fun park has Internet WiFi even parents at home could track & trace where the PDA publishes the kids whereabouts data to a webserver. Guess w've got to wait a couple of years so the gps/wifi plaster is implementable :-)
A bonus idea is that the park could set up warning gps parameters for danger (water, traffic, etc) that trigger alerts.
PS: The extra your get with GPS/WiFi on top of 'Theme Park Leash' is that you can track your kid also outside the controled spaces.

Take a wireless web cam and sick [sic] it on your kid, and you won't even have to *bother* finding him. |

I seem to recall that [susen] had a similar (good) idea, but it, along with her account, is long gone. [Edit]: I was wrong, as [bz] has linked. I spelled [Susen]'s name with a lower case initial. |

I prefer those spring-loaded retractable dog-leads, myself. |
