I have a three year old and her new game (great for me) is to play hide and seek in the store. She likes to run and hide behind clothing racks etc. The other day when she was doing a little too well at hiding, I thought about those leash things they have where your kid cant wonder off but I always think
that is too much like taking a dog for a walk. I thought it would be cool to give them a bracelet with a strobe and alarm on it. Youd have the remote. If you wonder where your kid is you hit the little flash button and the strobe flashes (you pick the color). You see the ceiling flash off the ceiling or from the clothes rack and there they are. If you are really panicky click the alarm button and the alarm sounds. I think if it were loud enough, your tot may even stop in there tracks wondering what was going. Last but not least there could be a proximity detector which would cause the alarm to sound louder and louder if the bracelet was too far from the remote. That way if someone grabs your kid the alarm sounds before they are 15 feet away from you. Of course it would be really loud if you took it off with out the remote.
Strobe Seizures
https://www.efa.org...ctsheets/photo.html I think strobes can be made safe if kept outside of a certain frequency. [Worldgineer, Oct 05 2004]

search for Jamie Bulger. I cannot bring myself to do it. Children are so precious - anything that keeps them safe gets my vote but this seems just a tad hit and miss. |

Strobes are quite dangerous to the general public. Change it to a blue light special, and I'll change my vote. |

Seems like my ideas lack that certain something to get croissants.....
Has anyone started the 1/4Bakery? |

How are strobes dangerous? They sell those stick on strobes for night-time bicycling, etc. They flash at maybe 1 fps. |
