I like those little magnetic spice holder/shakers that stick to metal racks you hang on the wall.

I would like to have a wall mounted Chess set to hang in the kitchen based on this, where each piece is filled with a different spice.
Some thick Checkers would round out the spice collection nicely with thirty two shakers.

Saffron Bishop to F-7.
Shake mate.

I like this idea. Incidentally, it makes me wonder those magnetic spice holders could be described as spice/space savers.

Personally I try to avoid magnetic spices. They play havoc with the iron in my blood.

If you were in parts of Asia, there is enough variety of garnishes on any one table to achieve close a full chess set. The top should be transparent to see what's inside of course.

Reminds me of the children's programme 'The Herbs'. I'm also wondering which piece is which spice. Which spice moves like a knight? Which is the queen of spices? Which is the rook of spices?

Is chesspiced meat best eaten on a skewer or with a fork?
