24 hour charity TV programmes have, in my humble opinion, become very tedious. Despite raising money for good causes, I think they've had their day.
Last night however, I would have taken out a second mortgage if the ref would have blown his whistle at 90 minutes when England were winning 1-0 against
France.
I propose that we do away with one minute of extra time per £10 million donated by fans. Obviously only the winning team would wish to donate, but I think we could raise a fortune for charity.
Clearly this goes against the spirit of the game, and the losing team would feel cheated and hard-done-by, but hey... it's only a game.
I can't believe I just said that.

I don't have £10 million and I'm not a soccer fan, but there were times when I would have given quite some money to get soccer off the TV, radio and news paper. So, you get a + even if it not for the reason you intended. |

would all these fans have predicted two french goals in the last few minutes? |

Doomy gloomy England fans? I think so, yes. |

[kbecker]: There's never any soccer on my TV, and the newspapers have plenty of other pages. |

Can I bid for more time added, so Zizou could complete his hat-trick? |

Take away the football game, and let the charity world cup be decided by which country's supporters donate the most money - a telethon play-off. |
