With the advent of voice recognition technology for many fast food establishments, the person taking your order doesn't need to speak to you and repeat the same statement, 'welcome to our place, may I take your order?'

Instead one could have a video clip of a company mascott doing that. The speech would be perfect every time and the video would be more pleasing than a plain speaker. The video clips would be responsive to the customers voice. The mascott or celebrity could point to your order in the display next to its own screen, say something witty or even endorse another product much like the, 'would you like fries with that?'

The order taker who monitors what is being said could then interject when the customer asks for help. The video would be controlled by the order taker to have the sound cut out or have the mascott go to a more passive stance when interjected.

I also say celebrity because the order taking could also go with whatever movie is out in theatres or featured in the kiddie meal.
