Cats love scratching posts but most of them are bland
and not that interesting. I therefore propose a range of
replicas of some famous towers that cats can climb, and
claw like feline versions of King Kong when he ascended
the Empire State Building.
The surface texture would be printed to
look like the
windows, and for the well catered for cat, a small
metropolis of towers from different countries could be
assembled. This would naturally include the Empire
State building but also the Petronas Towers, the Burj
Khalifa in Dubai, and may as well throw in the Shanghai
Tower.
For added effect, the deluxe version features towers
that may topple over a bit when vigorously ascended and
energetically clawed, but quickly spring back up into a
fully upright stance, like the one in the link kindly

Were you thinking of this kind of thing?

Choose your scale wisely: Empire State is 443m tall; Burj
Khalifa is 830m. |

I made a totally bitchin weeping willow cat tree when we had two cats. Twisted the brown carpet into bark patterns. I left holes in the middles of each platform and was a carpet installer at the time so each green carpet frond was painstakingly tapered and held in shape with green coated wire... |
|
|
...then I went a bit nutso on it and built a little tree fort with a light and a to scale tire swing and... |
|
|
...and then we figure that an owl got both cats because we found their collars high in the trees in our yard. |

|
About a year later I took my Pussy Willow to the dump but made sure to put it off to the side while I unloaded the rest of the truck. Seconds before I was going to turf it the person next to me says' "You're not throwing it that out are you?" |
|
|
I said' "SOLD!"... and it went to a good home. |

So much for "The Owl & The Pussy-Cat"... |
