Car seats that are like the hinge-forward seats on 2-door cars, but can be completely removed from the vehicle by pressing a release catch. Then, pull the handle on the seat base and tubular steel legs flip out and lock into place. Immediately, you have two (or four, or five) comfy chairs to sit in when
camping, picknicking etc. or just sitting in the sun at lunchtime in the car park.
The seats can also be dismounted to give more space in the vehicle when transporting freight rather than passenges.
Safety interlock switches sound a loud, irritating alarm if a seat is not correctly locked in place. They can be in place, or removed, but not partly fixed, for safety reasons.
Baked!

The 2CV had removeable seats for picnic use. So baked. Will find link. |

[ sctld ] Oh. I've driven a 2CV several times and I was never aware of this feature. Thanks for the link. |

Really? Its the cars only feature. |

[ sctld ] No, it has another one. It is the only car I have ever seen started by two hefty blokes lifting one front wheel off the ground and then another spinning the wheel (with the engine in gear) until the engine caught. |
