Simply, this is a compartment/s in the boot of cars, which is walled as a cool box or thermos would be.
Large enough to accomodate grocery bags - perishables can be kept cool and likewise cooked food can be kept warm on the journey home.

You could line the trunk with rigid foam insulation and cover it in indoor/outdoor carpet. Be sure to wrap the whole end of the car with Tyvek to prevent air leaks and caulk, caulk, caulk. |
