Ok, fit some pvc piping together in the shape of an arc that your car or truck will be able to drive under. Drill small holes every 6 inches or so that face the inside of the arc. Put plugs in both ends of the piping. Drill additional hole on very top of the arc and fit it with a 'female' receptor
to a garden hose. Secure the ends of the piping to rolling casters to allow the arc to roll. Attach garden hose to the arc and as water flows out of the contraption either drive under it or push it over your entire vehicle. Hook it up with a pressure generator or a soaping attachment and sell it to car lots for faster washing of their vehicles.

Tommy, you take after your dad. One Menlo Park croissant. |

I like it, T.E. Could be fitted around the rim of your garage door, so that every time you drive out your car gets a quick spray. |

//drive under it or push it over your entire vehicle.// Important: *dry-clean only* clothing should not be worn. |

//Could be fitted around the rim of your garage door// Great to get off all that salt from the street in winter. |

It's a very strange thing to do isn't it? Cleaning your car. I can understand wiping off the plates/lights but why the rest? |

Washing the car removes the road salt that promotes rust. Washing also prepares the car for waxing, also to preserve the finish. |

Washing a pickup truck, the motive for that is a mystery. |

Sadly, Tommy, the garden hose is not going to supply you with enough water. |

A layer of dirt reduces friction, allowing the vehicle to sliiide through the air more smoothly. Similar principle to graphite in pencils. Leaving dirt in place saves time compared with creating contraptions to wash it orf. |

Why is this in car: music? Can you design one for bikes too? + |
|
|
So, not a giant boat where you can wax your car? |

////Could be fitted around the rim of your garage door// Great to get off all that salt from the street in winter.//
also a great way to freeze your garage door shut in the winter. |

Yeah - why IS this in car:music? I prefer handwashing my bike - just the necessary stuff, sh then I don't have to worry about the electrical system getting any moisture. Since we're race prepped the bike, it has several open connectors and such that we've managed to tie-up. |

<looks out window>This is exactly how they wash the trams at the depot next door. They have 4 sections (arcs) that the tram slowly drives through before leaving the depot. Rinse, soap, rinse, blow-dry.</l o w>
it works really well. I'd buy one for my car [+]
However, with the water restrictions we have at the moment, it'd either have to recycle the water, or we couldn't use it. |
