The game consists of a square container, like a shallow box, filled with candies that are smooth on the sides, but irregularly shaped. Geometric shapes may be useful (squares, ovals, stars..) One side of the box contains the 'press', which exerts pressure on the box nearly enough to make the candies
arch up and "pop" out of the box.
Eventually, a player will remove a lynchpin, the pressure plate will snap down, and send candy raining everywhere.
This is based on an old wooden game I had as a kid, with round parts of varying sizes. I don't know what it was called, it was a hand-me-down that had long since lost its label.
Booby Trap board game
http://www.boardgam...gameid=5259#summary Pretty much same deal only with candy. Not sure it counts as a new idea. [waugsqueke, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

The game you're talking about was called "Booby Trap". I don't see how this differs from that game, except you're using candies instead of playing pieces. |
