Burr advertising

Consider the burr: a message of genetic material which obtains transport to a new site by adhering to a passing animal. I am well aware that Velcro is inspired by burrs, yada, yada - but Velcro requires consensual pairing with intent to fasten. A burr, or foxtail, or other sticky plant must just stick.

BUNGCO burr advertising does that: stick to people via nonglue methods. These little ads might stick in a shoe or sock like a foxtail. A passing babe in sequins sheds some onto you as she makes her way through the crowd. An airborne magnoburr sticks to your car. Burrific ads are released into the wind, to advertise where they may. One might pluck a burr ad from ones trousers to receive a commercial message, religious exhortation, public service announcement, or perhaps just a symbol.

what is the delivery system? I'm imagining you mean it to deposit something into the skin? like a medicine patch?

Oh wait, you want me to pluck something off my sock and read it. interesting...

       I must be missing something.

Almost nearly baked as airborne leaflet propaganda.

It would be quite fun to distribute leaflets folded to fly like sycamore seeds from tall buildings. Best make them biodegradable though.

//perhaps just a symbol// The burr's body need contain nothing more than the advertiser's logo, provided that is well enough known.

Much more than that needs to be explained to get a sticky bun.

/Much more than that needs to be explained /

Font restrictions limit me from explaining with nothing more than a logo, as would be my inclination.

       But airborne magnoburrs!

I think the trouble with this idea (bun anyway [+]) is that it gives advertisers an incentive to increase the population of stray animals on the streets. Packs of wild dogs will spread forth throughout the city, carrying with them news of the shoe sale at Yonkers.

The trouble with burrs is that often the bond they make with whatever fabric they are adhered to is stronger than the structural bond that holds burrs together. I suppose this helps distribute the seeds somewhat. I propose that when the target attempts to remove the burr, it comes apart and a little banner unfurls with the desired message.

I'm thinking one with a bluetooth chip broadcasting advertising products of your competitor's retail store in a very obnoxious voice.
