Bubble Blowing Wind Chimes

Grind soap and pour wind over it

Unlike the average annoying wind chimes which randomly ding at the slightest breeze all night long, these are merely decorative most of the time.

An anemometer sits atop the assembly, which restrains itself with a simple mechanical brake until the wind speed reaches the appropriate rate, at which point the brake is released and the chimes may sway and make the usual bonging contact.

However, at this wind speed the geared mechanisms within the chimes (EDIT: driven by the anemometer) are engaged and the bubble wands extrude from the chimes and dip briefly into the bubble soap reservoirs below, retracting only long enough to cast a stream of bubbles before dipping once again and retracting, over and over, until the gusts are past.

"Why the hell not?" I asked myself, and then I read the idea. My opinion remains unchanged. Bun.

Yes. So surprised no one has thought of this before. What was I thinking? Or not thinking?

+ yay, anything that makes more bubbles, but I would hang it next to my noisy wind chimes, too!

Make it rotary, much easier. Then you could add a music box to the axle to play "I'm forever blowing bubbles."
