Boat Shoes 2

inflate shoes and walk on them without falling

Boat shoes have been envisioned by every 10 year old child ever. But they're physically impossible, as the user will immediately fall over into the water.

These boat shoes (boots) include a counter-weight at the bottom, a sufficiently large balloon at the ankles to support the weight, a processor, and a motor in each boot. Acting in a similar way to those self-balancing scooters these boots attempt to counter water drag and keep the user upright.

       This idea is much worse than [chron]'s because the supplied details go the wrong direction. The //counter-weight at the bottom// needs to be MAHOOSIVE and will therefore double the size of the //sufficiently large balloon at the ankles//. Further, to be of any use whatsoever, the //motor in each boot// would have to be something like a Seagull 2 stroke outboard, further adding to the weight and therefore the size of the floatation devices.

       You are not far off inventing the idea "strap an 8ft dinghy with outboard to each foot".

       Okay, so how is it worse?

       //further adding to the weight//

       Most of the motor and fuelcan be part of the counterweight.

       //would have to be something like a Seagull 2 stroke outboard// - if these were directed to keep you moving forward and your 'boat shoes' had some sort of underwater hydrofoil to provide lift then you might be able to do without the balloon to provide buoyancy. Of course, as soon as you stopped you'd sink like a stone, but it would look good while it lasted.

       Perhaps all you need are 3 or 4 points of contact. Boat shoes and boat gloves and now you might have enough stability to not tumble over. If you do tumble over, good luck righting yourself...

       I remember endlessly cranking a Mercury Outboard with their cheerly slogan of "THUNDERBOLT IGNITION!" staring me in the face.

       Electric starter, supercap, and a couple of D cells? Have a brew while you wait for the cap to charge up, you know you want to. Have a sit-down by the side of the boat in the boat house while you make your plans for the lures and lines. That green monofil will be perfect, and did you bring enough of it? Maybe more bait? Contemplate traveling 50 meters to that bait shop while you crack open another. It started raining, let's wait a minute and see if it stops. Contemplate how many holes are in a straw and the buns on that waitress. Maybe you should stop by for another coffee on your way home. Empty again? Good thing you brought extra. The rain on the roof is soothing. Wouldn't want to be out in THAT. Tom said you should use two cm hooks. He doesn't know anything. Three centmeters or nothing! Hey Bill you came out to catch some too? Great weather for it, snark snark. You better drain the weasel. Ah, back in the warm fuzzy coat. You were abotu to do something weren't you? Fishin, that's right. Great day for fishin if you're already a fish haw haw. Damn beer is empty again. Beer, that's the stuff. Warms you up, mkees everything smooother. What time is it anyway? Not tht you have to care! Weekents are awesome fr that. A nice day out on the boooat zzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZZzzz
