I did it again. I carefully locked the front door before retiring for the night. Next morning, looking for keys, found them outside, dangling from the front door. It happens just about every time I unlock the door while carrying a large package.
Why cant front doors act like car doors? If you leave
your key in the car and open the door, it beeps at you. I want the front door to start beeping if I close it with the key in the lock.

Or the door won't shut/lock from inside with the keys in the lock... |

I've done this myself more than a few times. Good idea. |

I need one for the mailbox door, too... |

You mean it doesn't cuss? |

Kudos for a "smart door" that lets you know that the keys are in the lock for more than two seconds. This could be handy for notifying the alarm company if someone is trying to pick the lock, too. |

The question "Where are my keys?" sounds too familiar, although it has been a while since I left them there all night. However, I have come home from work only to find that I never locked the front door the day before. So how about adding a function to beep if the door is still unlocked at a certain time? Or a blinking light on a panel in the master bedroom? |

One of my neighbors has twice left the keys in the mailbox; the remote auto alarm switch was very handy for finding out which house to take them to! |

I was expecting a high-tech version of those bells on shop doors that ring when you walk through them. |

This is much better and far less hateful (+) |

My car doesn't beep when I leave the keys in. Neat Idea... Sort of. |
