A hair brush with bristles pointed toward the sun would make an excellent target for adsorbing solar radiation. A little research to find the best black fiber might be worth the trouble.
As the ray of energy bounces back and forth among the bristles it is sure to find a home.
Some cone collectors
work on a similar scheme like a crabs eye lens for example.
