Take an old pool table. Dip each ball in paint (not too runny or it will leave puddles on the table). Rack em up and play. Throughout the game the balls will leave a coloured trail from the triangle to the pocket. Cut out the felt and frame. You will then have a lovely piece of abstract art to hang
in your billiards room! Have fun tracing the path of each ball.

Fairly easily bakeable for anyone willing to sacrifice a pool table. |
This is evil. +
Oil paint, of course. |
Rather than wreck the table, mount a digital camera on the ceiling above it and software-simulate the art. |

...and the dogs chalking their cues. |

I think [krelnik]'s idea is preferable, as really, once you hit the initial shot-- don't know my billiard terminology, you'll excuse me-- each ball's smeared some ink on a neighbor. |

Glow-in-the-dark billiard balls and a time lapse camera. |

//Oil paint// Yes. Or finger paint. |
Have a paper insert that fits over the table, and you can do multiple abstract paintings with your balls. |
YOu don't have to sacrifice your pool table to bake this: thin, pre-cut, easy to install felt coverings would be available at stores for each painting/game and they can be replaceable every time. |

Did something similar with tennis balls in a white room.
Lots of fun. The fuzzy felt on the balls holds a lot of
paint, so you don't have to reload too often. But the
outcome was pretty bad, art-wise. Much better to make
than to look at. |

or a soccer version, implemented with a soccer ball sprinkling different types of grass seed on your lawn. |
Do we get bonus points if we jump a ball off the pool table and leave a large ink spot on the other player's forehead? |

Good idea - don't forget a blacklight to make the balls glow nice and bright. |

[mr_imagonna]; the tennis balls remind me of something else that's fun, VERY dangerous, albeit unrelated to art.. Soak a tennis ball in lighter fluid, ignite, and play night-time flaming street hockey. I guarantee the goalie won't block a single shot. =] |

I like this. Time to bring out the jump shots and massés : "Fast and loose" |

(aside how does one use an e with an accent in annos? Cheers [Kreuner]!) |
[krelnik] But how do you hang it on the wall? |
This idea is insane...but I LOVE it! Bravo! |
Will do this one day, one day... |

We should do this with cars. Imagine a
rainbow spaghetti around London as
viewed from one's helicopter... |
