How about this? The comedian comes out with a ventriloquist dummy, takes a drink of water and then after a carefully timed long uncomfortable pause, throws the dummy to the ground and stomps it into little pieces then saying "I hate ventriloquist acts." |

I think everybody would be so relieved that it's not a ventriloquist act it would be a great way to break the ice. Instant bonding with the audience. |
