Benefit from Politics

A new Party called: YOU CAN BUY MY VOTES

(0)
  [vote for,
against]

Every election, millions and millions are spent on campaign and advertising. And even more "soft" money is spent by special interest groups. The fact of the matter is this: Many voters are not happy with either one of the candidates.

Well if someone you don't like is going to be elected anyways, why no benefit from it?

Organize a Political Party called "YOU CAN BUY MY VOTE" and here's how it works. Each party will have a list of voters who will vote based on what this party tells him/her. This party will not have anyone running in any election. But this party will have 2 (3) bank accounts called: Republican, Democrat, (Third). Anyone can deposit money into anyone of the accounts. A week prior to election day, we will disclose how much money is in each account and the account with the most money will have all the votes from all of the "YOU CAN BUY MY VOTE" voters. After the election, all the money from ONLY the winning party's account will be distributed evenly to all the Voters who voted. (We'll need to come up with a way to find out if people actually voted the way they were suppose to). The other accounts will keep the money and be added to the next election. Of course, there can only be one withdrawl made on every election and the account information must be made public all the time.

You can already bet on the outcomes of elections. As a political party, this scheme would fall foul of the federal election laws.

So federal laws cannot be changed?

Didn't we discuss this around the time of the last U.S. presidential election? Back when people were trying to auction their votes on E-Bay...

On Ebay, you cannot buy millions of votes. This would be far more organized.

       Kickback.

A variation: Have that party run candidates.

The party has a secure website. Whenever a decision on a bill is due the text of the bill is posted on the website. Registered voters (monthly fee) can vote at the website and the senator will vote according to the result at the web site. Premium voter accounts also receive background info for each bill.

During the campaign sell it as the only true democracy. The party gets rich in on the monthly fees. Additional money can be made by selling pop-up up ads and banners to lobby groups.
