Beatboxers are brilliant at imitating disco music type sounds - ie drum machines, and all kinds of percussion.
I would like to get a group of them together and let them replace the entire sound track of a well known film, including all of the music and the incidental noises made by the foley artist.
Other experts will be deployed to supplant the actor's voices.
This would be a live performance, with the beatboxers/vocalisers/replacement foley artists assembled together and being visible in tandem with the projected film.
I'm thinking of Psycho as the film I would really like to use. This is for several reasons: it's an all time favourite and an all time great; the sound plays a major creative role in the film; I'm very familiar with the film having watched it numerous times and used it as a creative study source with my students.

I saw Bobby McFerrin once, and it was a fantastic show. Give the man a call if you decide to do this. |
