You get up every morning
With a thousand ‘larm clocks swarming
Take the *Multi-Stage Continuous-Loop Variable Speed Transit System* into the city
There’s a whibble up above
And people pushin’, people shovin’
And some ‘bakers who try to get witty
And if your brains got
time
You can invent something by nine
And post it on the half-bake-ery.
If you think you’re freakin’ Freud
Hey, so what, we’re all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day
And she’ll be bakin’ care of business every day
Bakin’ care of business every way
Been bakin’ care of business, jutta is so fine
Baking care of business and working overtime
Bake out
If it were as easy as fission
You could bake it with precision
If you could make ideas loud or mellow
Get an exploding guitar
Chances are you’ll go far
If you get in with this weird bunch of fellows
People see you getting buns
Vernon is saving the Sun
Tell them you like it this way
It’s the crashing we avoid
And we’re all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day
And she’ll be bakin’ care of business every day
Bakin’ care of business every way
Been bakin’ care of business, jutta is so fine
Baking care of business and working overtime

[marked-for-deletion] pun. [+] |
umm, to rhyme is not to pun. |
pun n. A play on words, sometimes on different senses of the same word and sometimes on the similar sense or sound of different words. |
its a song! <said like - its a puppet!> |
meaning - look up at the category - its a song. |
hey, I wonder if jutta has flour in her hair. |
Don't make me MFD this for list, too. |
hey [nuc]--from the help file for you to understand:
(about posting in the Halfbakery category) |
"Many of them are suggestions and inventions for the operation of a website, but there are also bits of poetry, song parodies, mere observations, or even social notices from users that are leaving or have dropped by to just say "hi" to their friends. The [marked-for-deletion] rules are relaxed below Halfbakery:; in exchange, new entries in this category don't show up on the default root page."
by the Bakesperson herself |
//Don't make me MFD this for list, too.// good grief. |
[po] Good one: "when you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flour in your hair..." |
Some people are waaaaay too literal - try reading *between* the the lines. Didn't you get my bun? |
I'd very much appreciate it if you didn't rely on the moderators and their search scripts to read between the lines, too. (We're *mostly* sane and attentive, but the less you rely on it, the more attention is left for cases that really do need it.) |
"We love the flour girl: Was she reality, or just halfbakery..." |
Sorry, [Jutta] but I'm confused. A number of less-than (more-than?) halfbaked ideas have *multiple* MFDs and are still standing. Thus the MFD appears to be more a tool for commentary than a request for an artillery strike. Maybe if MFD was misspelled ... nah - then I'd just get a Sp. from [MaxwellBuchanan]. |
Yes, there have been users before you who also misuse this tool. Some, not all of them. Unfortunately, the correct uses get deleted; only the incorrect ones stay around as examples.
(To be honest, one reason that there's so much MFD-crap lying around is that I'm tired of adjucating petty quarrels.) |
The impression on other users after you - who maybe haven't been around long enough to take your comments with a grain of salt - is one of the reasons I'm not just plain ignoring your marked-for-deletion annotations but am telling you to stop. |
The tool of choice for commentary on this site should be the English language. That way, people can understand what you're saying, even without the half-hour instructional video. |
*Slap* How dare you sir. I am Canadian.
That is my song you're ruining. I will throw
beavers at you. |
Hold your beavers, [punk]! [xandram] is a lady! |
Oh dear, I'm sorry for all of these misunderstandings.
[punk]-It's just a parody. I rather like the *kick-ass* song myself, never intending to ruin it.
And lovely [pertinax] thank you for saving my honor! |
The Bakeman Burner Overfried was a nice
touch I must admit. I'll hold the beavers
for when somebody steals bombardier. |
//Unfortunately, the correct uses get deleted; only the incorrect ones stay around as examples.// |
Ah! That explains it. I took those lingering MFDs to be commentary. There exists a large amount of interpretation regarding the rules, and seemingly similar MFDs in different annos get different responses, adding to the confusion. For example, no complaints were made when I MFD'd the Taglines thread for list. |
//I'm not just plain ignoring your marked-for-deletion annotations but am telling you to stop.// |
Have my MFD priveleges been revoked? |
//MFD rules are relaxed to ideas in the HB:Halfbakery categories i.e. very little gets MFD'd because its tolerated.// |
Which would seem to make an MFD *here* even more of a joke. |
//A joke MFD is just a waste of someones time.// |
A joke, as well as a pun, is entirely subjective. Sorry to waste your time. |
//Which would seem to make an MFD *here* even more of a joke.// |
Which is a real help to certain people searching for the tag. |
[nuc] Now that's all cleared up, we can just move on. I must admit, I have trouble distinguishing *puns* sometimes myself. I do thank you for your bun, too. |
Suddenly, I'm not half the bun I used to be,
There's a fishbone hanging over me,
Oh I believe in bakery. |
[marklar] I give you two buns baked for
that. |
Shirley, you can tell a joke MFD (or an otherwise ironic, indirect or meta-referring MFD) because it's spelled "MFD", and not, you know, the other way... |
Maybe that should be added to an obscure corner of the help file that no-one will ever read. |
//Guess I'm dating myself again// are your palms hairy yet, Brau? |
nuclear hobo's list goes on - also from Bakeman-Burner Overfried, their follow-up hit "Looking Out For 'Nother Bun". Or the Fab Four's "If I Kneaded Some Bun". Or "House Of The Rising Bun" by <insert your favourite artist here>. Or my personal fave, by Randy Bunwarmer "Jutta When I Kneaded You Most". |
and I've been racking my brain for days trying to come up with just *one* clever adaptation ... |
half bakery to you
half bakery to you
half bakery dear jutta
half bakery to you |
