Backpack Basketball

No more wasted time on the way to an impromptu game. No more waiting until a court is free. Yes you can dribble and shoot hoops on your way and on the sidelines, because you’ve got your own basket and backboard with you!

Made out of lightweight plastics and aluminum, the goal is easily unfolded and raised out of the backpack by pumping a lever (and is spring-loaded to fold itself back into the pack after use). You can even adjust height, distance and board angle effortlessly.

Practice your shots while jogging or train free throws while waiting for a ride. Just about anything is possible except slam-dunks. When your buddy also gets a backpack basketball, shoot at each other’s baskets for some really wild action.

This looks painful for passerby(s). But, you'll always get the croissant for the artwork. +1

The basket as a moving target would certainly be an extra challenge.

       Beautiful sketch!
But a basket that moves from the very act of shooting at it would cause a self-referential but conflicting phenomenology, instantly killing the user.

He does it again! Newbies take note - you're watching a master at work.

       Good to see you FJ.

Thanks, guys. It's good to be back!

I see a new multi-team chaos individual sport... defend your own basket from being dunked by other players wearing baskets, each one on his own team.

"At the buzzer -it's FJ, from downtown..."

"The crowd go wild... FJ scores! A last minute croissant secures the championship!"

       [FJ] shoots.... he scores. +

Polish style: Throw the ball straight up into the air, and try and manipulate the basket underneath.

As a "transportation challenged" (ie. public transit) "urban tourist" (ie. I carry every possible thing so I don't have to prolong the unending busing by returning home till days end) I consider myself an expert on "the transportation of 'stuff' ". My thoughts as I read the idea/saw the vote were exactly the same as the last hb'er to post before I started this "little note". Who and why the skeletal fishy.

Pop this croissant in your backpack. +

       Time will tell.

I think we should just temporarily turn on the oft-requested 'show how bakers voted' on this idea just long enough to find out the negative voters, then go beat 'em up! Yeah... let's get 'em!
waugsqueke, Jun 12 2003

but me and bliss might have done it in error - you know what we are like! don't shoot!

Nice, I like having the opportunity to toss some buns at an obviously deserving post (that apparently lost most of them in the 'Crash of '04').
