Baby Buggy Bike

a pram pedal-pusher

Sometimes pushing the kid(s) around in a stroller becomes a major chore. Long walks shoving a heavy load can result in a hunched, worn-out back and weary feet. Change all that with the Baby Buggy Bike.

Looking like the rear half of a bicycle, this flexible one-wheeler mounts quickly and easily to the frame of most models of strollers, baby carriages, prams and pushchairs. Its light weight and single, low gear make it a breeze to pedal, while keeping it at a safe speed. The back pedal brake and articulated front joint means that the biker, holding the stroller handle(s), can maneuver with ease.

For your next outing, pack both baby buggy and Baby Buggy Bike in the car, and look forward to an invigorating ride while Baby is lulled to sleep.

I'll take one, if it comes with cup holders. But I'm going to need a middle wheel if I want to strap it on to our stroller-- otherwise it'll tip up, and I'll go forward, and land on my kids. Many strollers are so light that just hanging the diaper bag over the handle will tip it over backward, and the rear wheels on ours are already splayed out from the weight of the kids.

Steering should be fun-- I can barely make ours go straight as it is.+

Your drawings are always entertaining, but I fear this one would not work mechanically. I have seen few strollers that can take half the weight of a wo/man on the rear frame. Besides, as neilp notes, you are reinventing, if not the wheel itself, then certainly the bike stroller.

All that is needed is a buggy section engineered for the loads this design will encounter.

This site isn't about widely available alternatives, it's about originals.

Not to mention the one doing the pushing feeling wind from directly in front of them...

[amos kitty] if we install rubber baby buggy bumpers, does it mean we will be transporting the sixth sheet slitter's son?

I have seen exactly this sort of bike attachment (just the rear half) that attaches to the rear of another bike, turning one into a tandem.

Hmmm, somehow a Segway wants to become part of this idea, I'm just not sure how...
