Each of the seven visible bowling pins has a letter painted on the front of it, and when you knock those pins down, you get those letters to use in a Scrabble game which you are playing simultaneously. The system is all computerized, so if you knock down the A, A, E, G, V and W pins, a computer screen
senses this, and it will show you those letters and let you play one or more of them on a computerized Scrabble board.
No longer will you have to watch your friend bowling and pretend you are interested in how well he does. Now, while he is bowling you can be thinking of your Scrabble word. Splits and spares provide additional strategy, as you will need to choose whether to risk going for the spare or sacrifice it to make sure you knock down a high-scoring letter.
Specifics:
You can pick up 0 to 7 tiles per frame. After your Scrabble turn, any tiles you didn't use are discarded. Picking up and playing all 7 tiles earns you the standard Scrabble bonus of 50 points.
Your final score is equal to your bowling score plus your Scrabble score.

I must have missed the old hybrid of bowling and Scrabble |

(+) I don't have anything to add to this idea, so I'll just leave my favorite Zach Galifianakis quote here; |

"The only time it's ok to yell out 'I have diarrhea' is when you're playing Scrabble...because it's worth a shitload of points." |

I keep reading this as '...hybrid of howling and Scrabble!' |
