Asphyxia Stargate
A swirling vortex of illuminated gas and a bus trip to an Egyptology exhibit. | |
The construction of the Asphyxia Stargate is inexpensive and straightforward. A round frame is constructed from any number of materials, and is detailed and painted with metallic spraypaint. The frame is an entrance to a small square room with the same dimensions as the frame's diameter. A powerful
fan faces the rear wall of the room creating a negative pressure. A block of dry ice fills the room with smoke, as some blue lights illuminate the swirling haze.

Had to finish this one in a hurry, sorry. A Stargate is the fictitious invention at the centre of the Stargate Sci-fi franchise. |

The idea here is that any number of unsuspecting travellers enter this Stargate, become asphyxiated by the carbon dioxide displacing oxygen, and are then taken on a bus trip to an Egyptology exhibit. |

I see two problems: 1) the gas won't be dense enough to block the view of the room behind it. It will look like a room full of smoke. 2) carbon dioxide poisoning. |

Perhaps an innovation would be to make them oval so you could tip one on its side and slip it through the other. The downside, of course, is that you require a receiving Stargate on the other side so can only really send one to where there already is one. Still, you would have the advantage of already starting at the furthest point along the chain. |
