I've always been for de-criminalization of drugs so don't get me wrong, I still support that, but telling kids this stuff is good for them should be countered with the other side of the story.
Basically have public awareness campaigns that say "Just because it's legal, doesn't mean it's good for you,
especially in your mental development years."
Lots of bad stuff with this or pretty much any recreational drug, put a link up but I don't think there's anybody who's not familiar with this.
Mostly for young people and paid for by marijuana taxes.
Some of the side effects, especially for young people.

Approved - but sort of agree with A1. I got fucked up for an entire year by smoking one seriously strong joint in Amsterdam in the year 1999, and ended up on an SSRI to stop me from drilling holes in my own head. In fairness, no warning would have stopped me. My friend's son is permanently fried from the same stuff ...... A'Dam skunk. |

I'm sorry you had that experience. I know in MY youth we were always shown clips of "Reefer Madness" that, while silly in its portrayal of the dangers of weed, was shown with the implication that because the movie was stupid, weed was entirely benign, something that just wasn't true. |
I say just put the truth out there. Will all kids listen? Of course not, but some will. |
Like throwing however many life preservers you have to people in the water after a boat has sunk. Helping some is better than doing nothing. |
I wonder if such labels will merely give the judicial system legal footing in the aftermath when angry parents seek to level the finger of blame against some deep-pocketed entity for their child being messed up and irresponsible and thus less-employable. |
Probably should have been enacted at the get go. For decades stepladders had no warnings because users understood the physics of standing on the top step and leaning far to one side; these days a scant few read and heed warnings, and stupidity and carelessness can easily win a court case. |
You could be right, but on the other hand, they could do what big pharma does. Just throw out the warnings themselves like they do on the commercials. Then say "We warned them!" (link) |

By the way, there's been another development that as a Libertarian type wanting as little government regulation into our private lives as possible, I didn't see coming. |

Evidently that legal weed I've always supported is getting blown out of the marketplace by illegal weed. No taxes, no licenses and worst of all, not rules being followed with regard to water, environment, safety etc. |
So you want to grow legal marijuana, you get your license, you make sure the growth area is proper for such use, you don't take more water than is fair for your area etc. and biggest of all, you pay for all the fees, licenses, inspections and mostly taxes. |
Then your competitor just plants illegally on hidden public land, scams water from the locals, doesn't pay taxes, fair wages to workers or anything. |
Guess who survives? The solution I would say is get MORE Libertarian, at least drop the taxes for legal growers, then hike the fines for illegal land use and add criminal penalties. (So you're saying throw illegal weed growers in jail?) I know, it's a complicated world eh? |
Ought to be some way to mark one version, the legal or the illegal, so we'd know at a glance. I suggest red spray paint. |
Tell you what, you can figure out a way to deal with this issue you'll be a very rich man. |
Hmm. Or very dead. Keep in mind, these are illegal drug cartels, and even though it's just weed, the money is just as real as from any other drug. |
Yea, on second thought, let's stay out of this. |
Would this look anything like the 'This is your brain.... this is your brain on drugs' ad that you railed against as having the wrong effect? |
