A car near your home, office, etc keeps setting off its alarm. You wish there was some way of shutting it up, but you don't know whose it is and attacking the car itself would only make it worse (and be illegal, if you care).
The Anti-Alarm Foam Grenade is a gentle and effective means of shutting
a car up. On impact it explodes into streamers of soft, muffling foam that cover the car.
When the real owner turns up, they easily swat the stuff aside and drive off, leaving a collapsing pile of non-toxic biodegradable mush. They may even take the hint and do something about it.
And before you start to worry about people abusing it as a weapon, the stuff is soft enough that it really wouldn't do anyone any harm.

Someone throw a muffler grenade at steve.. |

Better still, throw a Granada muffler at him. |

I think we should conduct some field tests on this one. |

I'd think that a bazooka would be much more effective in silencing the offending alarm. After the explosion, you'd never hear that alarm again. Or anything else for the next few hours. |
|
|
The owner would then get a much stronger hint that not attending to the incessant alarm is not an acceptable practice. |

Besides, if silencing grenades that truly worked became available, the car thieves would simply deploy them before breaking in, thus rendering alarms completely useless for their intended purpose. The alarm manufacturers would respond my making the alarms that much louder and more obnoxious, thereby escalating the situation in an arms race. |
