A perfectly ordinary analogue alarm
clock, with little LEDs on the hands
and at each number position so it
can be read in the
dark.
Why not just get a
digital LED clock? I prefer analogue
clocks.

+ It would be easier for near-sighted people to see it without putting on their glasses. You could also use dim LEDs (visible only in the dark) because you wouldnt need to be able to see the LEDs during the day, thereby causing less light pollution. |

I've seen LCD clocks and watches like this, but not LED. |

Nice links [LL]. I wouldn't describe
the second one as "very" close -
it's got a digital display and hasn't
got moving hands. The "Binary LED
Clock" is nice
though. [waugs] Do you mean
you've seen clocks with an LCD
representation of hands or LCD
displays actually *on* the
hands? [AO] Dim LEDs. I like
it. |

[hippo], I agree. Its only kinda-sorta close. I was very excited to find it, got caught up in the moment. |

[phoenix], those links are amazing. |

The former. I have also seen analog clocks with just plain old light-up hands. Again, not LED. |

[hippo] have you suddenly awoken from a Rip Van WInkle like sleep? I don't seem to have seen your name on here for ages |

Yup, that's right - I took a break
from the HalfBakery sometime
towards the end of May but
recently felt inspired to return. |
