The Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) is a crowdsourcing
Internet marketplace that enables individuals and
businesses to coordinate the use of human intelligence
to
perform tasks that computers are currently unable to do
Slot machines are gambling machines that requires 0
skills
to use.
Why
not combine the two?
Have people slot machines spin every time a user
completes a mturk task. Part of the profit is taken for
the
spinning of the machine, and part of it is given to the
gambler.
This way even if they do not win, at the very least at the
end of the session the might be able to afford a small
drink.
Of course, ideally they should just skip that, and go
straight to Mturk directly.

I think that instead of using slot machines to entice people to work at a site like Mturk, you would have better luck getting the slot machine customer to hire The Mechanical Turks to do something for them. Real wages (penny s per task) are so low on the site that, they really do not need more workers. |

The favorite "make 20 pulls on the slot machine and I will take off another piece of my clothing" is a place to start. ( The Mturk site doesn't allow stripping and two dozen other things, but some sites may.) |
