Algorithmic Voting

Conditional voting
  (+1)
(+1)
  [vote for,
against]

This is more applicable to the US election given the Separation of Powers.

Idea here is that there are specific votes one might make that are dependent on how a specific part of the election turns out. A simple example might be wanting Senators of the opposite party to be in the majority depending on who the winning Presidential candidate is.

Don't people do this anyway, haven't they always?

Or is the suggestion conditional votes should be available as options on the ballot papers so you don't have to guess which way a subsequent vote the result of which your vote in this one is conditional on will go?

What happens If people decide to screw with the system & conditionally vote for president A IF the majority of the senate are his party.

Then conditionally vote for senators of the opposite party IF A is president.

       [Ponders]

Actually, that sounds like fun .. Go for it!

Most people seem to struggle with choosing A or B.
Something complicated (but better...) like this will never work.
