Airplane/Helicopter Bungee Jumping

Bungee jumping from an airplane or helicopter

Wouldn't it be great if you could combine the fun of parachuting and bungee jumping? Suppose you were to jump out of an airplane attached to a bungee cord. The pilot could allow you to fall slower, faster, left, and right. When you were done, they could just reel you back in. If this was done in a helicopter, you could stand on the ground (attached to the bottom by a bungee), and the helicopter would rapidly rise. You would feel a pull upwards, then suddenly fly up (not sure if a helicopter could rise fast enough for this).

And, the guy who jumped is *blind*! (be sure to check out the "Human Cannonball" where he is fired from a trebuchet) [Klaatu, Oct 17 2004]

//You would feel a pull upwards, then suddenly fly up (not sure if a helicopter could rise fast enough for this).// Some helicopters are but you would have to borrow them from the US military.

This idea is different from your link [Klaatu] because it is 'launched' from the ground, for the helicopter part anyway.

I've always been enamored of the prospect of skydiving from a hot-air balloon, myself.

Aren't the rotor blades a mild concern? Was that intended humour?
