Adult Travel Stroller

One walks, the other rides, twice the ground is covered.

On a recent vacation with my still stroller-aged children, I noticed that they had the pleasure of seeing large potions of the visited city seated comfortably, while my wife and I exhaused ourselves trudging, pushing them from place to place. At the hotel at night, the adults collapsed while the children were still ready for action. For power-travellers there needs to be an adult sized stroller that travelling partners could use to either cover more ground, or to cover the same ground with less energy. One sits and observes, while the other pushes; they swap positions every hour or so to distribute the burden. Like child-sized strollers, judicious placement of pouches and pockets help carry snacks and the occassional souvenir. Wheelchairs suffer from being too cumbersome to board planes or subways but, more significantly, it advertises that the rider is an invalid and should be afforded consideration and privelege. This makes wheelchairs unsuitable for use by healthy, energetic travellers.

If the kids could push it, I think it just might work.

So how would this differ from a wheelchair (many of which are designed to be easily packed away and transportable folded)? Or from a bath chair (see link)?

Get one of those push chairs like they have on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.

You could apply this idea to a dogsled style of transportation. You could put harnesses on the kids and have the adults sit in the stroller. Dangle a piece of candy in front of the kids and get across town quick! An added bonus is the kids are the tired ones! Credit to toothpaste ^^ for the inspiration.
