Imagine a plastic collapsible flat devise that can be pulled to almost any length or basic square shape. Like a flat version of the children's toy expanding ball that expands and contracts as you pull or push it.

Now imagine it holding many pictures/photos on a wall. No more finding "good spots" to hammer a picture hook into the wall. Just one or two hooks would hold it up and you could then hang lots of pictures from it.

       I've spent a good deal of time around galleries and hanging pictures. If it came to this, I think I'd rather live with a few extra minor holes in the wall board, or convert to a masonite pegboard system, or even an overhead track and tensile wire system. Having your expandable wall hook poking out from behind pictures would seem to be hugely distracting from the value of the art.
