I don't know about you people, but I can't get enough of Sunkist orange soda. One day as I was opening a can I said to my self: "What if this stuff is addictive?" and then i started thinking about all the money that tobacco companies made from their addictive cigarettes. So, why don't we build a strong base of loyal customers by making a soda that is habit forming? It will make millions.

That's why the recipe for coca-cola is so secret...

In The Space Merchants< by Pohl and Kornbluth, the protagonist is an employee of a company that manufactures soda pop, snack food, and cigarettes, among other things. The cigarettes give you cravings for Crunchies, and Crunchies kick off withdrawal cravings for Popsie, which in turns makes you want to smoke Starrs.

It's a pretty horrible book actually. In the 1950s when it was written it was intended as satire, but when you read it now it isn't particularly funny.

So, according to the link on cocaine & Coca-Cola, Ecgonina-Cola is up for grabs as a name? Given the unhealthy criminal interest in selling ordinary people as much cocaine as they can possibly buy, I'm surprised no criminal masterbrewer hasn't got back to "original formula" Coca-Cola and started selling it in ecgonic speakeasies.

A 250ml can of Red Bull contains:

       Saccharose 21.5g, Glucose 5.25g (total 26.75g sugar), Taurine 1,000mg, Glucuronolactone 600mg, Caffeine 50mg, Inositol 50mg, Niacin 20mg, d-Panthenol 5mg, Vit B6 4mg, Vit B2 0.15mg, Vit B12 0.004mg

I had a few cans of Red Bull to get me through a series of late-nighters at the office. It's too subtle an effect to say if I get a kick out of it, but now I don't seem right on normal days till I've had a can or two.

A quick google for addiction OR addictive "red bull" brings up 2,970 hits, many of which are quite adamant that it is habit-forming.

This was also the subject of a video game, "Oddworld: Abe's Exodus", for playstation one. In it, there are inhabitants being kept as slaves by getting them addicted to...that's right...an addictive soda. Which turns out to be made from the bones of dead slaves.
