Lots of 3d ideas: goggles, gubbins, glasses etc. Is this one new?
Here is the premise: you have a bucket over your head, placed there for your protection by hamhanded but well meaning unicorns. Now you must go on a quest to save the redheaded fairy princess. Your sidekick Opal (also a fairy) has
managed to kung-fu a little hole in the bucket for you to see through with one eye. Not called a sidekick for nothing, that Opal.
That one-eyed view thru the hole is what you see on your device. As you swing it about, you can see thru the hole as though you were swinging about your head, like you do. As you walk with the ipad the view through your buckethole moves along as if you were walking. You can look down at your feet, above you (Opal is usually up there) - wherever you swing the pad. It is the determination of the field of view that is new here. Interaction with things is via tapping on the pad as usual.
It might be possible to use GPS as an aspect of this game - logging the current GPS coordinates at game on and then tracking real life movement, mapping that to movement in the game. You might need to wander around some. If you get up against a wall you might need to pause and restart once you get outside or someplace with more space.

I like the idea of using the bucket to ram things. You would need to look down and then run forward with adequate speed. On second thought maybe the kids will actually ram their heads into the wall. So an actual bucket for the head might be a good accessory. Maybe with some frozen peas inside as a cushion / pain reliever. |

This Idea appears to be a combination of "Augmented
Reality" and "Virtual Reality". I'm pretty sure some
searching will turn up other proposals that also combine
the two notions. |

I have seen lots of games where you turn the pad and stuff happens inside according to the new angle - for example rolling a virtual metal ball in a maze. I have not seen anything where turning the ipad opens up a different field of view as though the ipad were a hole to a different reality. But if someone has, link it up please! |

I posted links to a couple of similar ideas. There are loads
more like them. They're all guns, though, so there's still lots
of originality here. |

After searching for an appropriate link to the guitarist Buckethead, I decided to spare you listening to his guitar playing. |

He is an odd bird though, and worth a google. |
